Brazilian distributor Equipo displayed a variety of CHAUVET® fixtures at Expomusic 2012 in Sao Paulo. Among the CHAUVET® DJ lights on display were SlimPAR™ PRO VW wash lights, nimble and compact moving yokes from our Intimidator™ series, Cubix™ 2.0 and LED Mushroom™ effect lights, lasers and more. The 6,400-square-feet stand was built entirely of truss from TRUSST®, brand backed by CHAUVET®, and housed CHAUVET® Professional gear as well.
The recent Detonate Indoor Festival featured loads of CHAUVET® gear and the hottest drum and bass acts around. CHAUVET® Business Development Manager for Latin America Paula Ortiz recently attended the 35th anniversary celebration of CHAUVET® distributor Instrumentos Musicales La Voz. The 300 guests were entertained with cocktails, dancing acts, performances by local bands all unfolding under CHAUVET®’s bright lights. CHAUVET® CEO Albert Chauvet congratulated La Voz co-founders and employees in a video presentation displayed during the celebration. General Manager Pablo Sanchez, son of co-founder Carlos Sanchez, talked about the history of the company and showed photos, as well as interviews with the co-founders, first employees and current employees. The two stages built for the anniversary featured mostly CHAUVET® products, like Intimidator™ Spot LED 350 moving lights, COLORpalette™ LED bank systems, SlimPAR™ Pro RGBA wash lights, Q-Spot™ 250 LED and Legend™ 300E Beam moving yokes.
Hundreds of lighting enthusiasts, including CHAUVET® representatives, gathered in Queens, N.Y. for the grand opening of Mainline Sound, Lighting and Video. The event featured new CHAUVET® Professional product demonstrations, live music from prominent DJs and lighting gear giveaways.
CHAUVET® joined a one-of-a-kind party thrown by Algam, distributor of musical instruments, audio and lighting equipment throughout France. Algam exclusively distributes CHAUVET® DJ and Professional products. Organized every two years, the party aims to bring together Algam’s main suppliers. CHAUVET® lights filled the hotel where the event took place, and lit a theater, showroom, bar lounge temporarily turned into a concert room, ballroom and garden.
Algam CEO Gérard Garnier, director Jean-Luc Dubois and Algam employees entertained their guests with a play, introducing the general theme of pirates to the gathering. Garnier recognized CHAUVET® CEO Albert Chauvet on stage for his efforts and innovations brought to the lighting industry. The performance was lit by 12 Q-Wash™ 260-LED moving heads , six COLORado™ 1-Tri Tour static wash lights and one Intimidator™ Spot LED 150 moving yoke spot. Ten COLORado™ Batten 72 Tour linear wash lights framed the audience on each side of the stage.
About 30 CHAUVET® fixtures were installed behind audio equipment in a showroom shared with HK Audio, including the Gobo Zoom™ LED gobo projector, Cosmos™ LED, Radius™, Circus™, and Hemisphere™ 5 effect lights, Intimidator™ Scan LED 200 and Intimidator™ Scan LED 300 scanners and 4PLAY™ CL wash light. Other lights on display were the 4BAR™ and 6SPOT™ wash lights and LFS-5 framing spot.
The bar lounge was turned into a concert room by installing nine SlimPAR™ Pro Tri and six COLORado™ Batten 72 Tour wash lights.
For a dancing soiree a variety of fixtures animated the ballroom: one Radius™, one Circus™, three Abyss™ LED 2.0, and two Eclipse™ effect lights, as well as one Intimidator™ Scan LED 300 scanner and six Gobo Zoom™ LED gobo projectors. Furthermore, 12 COLORdash™ Batten Tri linear wash lights, 10 COLORtube™ 3.0 EQ fixtures—a linear chase, static color effect and a real-time music visualizer in one light, MotionFaçade™ LED front board for DJ booths and six WELL™ wireless wash fixtures. An Arena™ Hazer 3 haze machine set the atmosphere for dancing.
Additionally for exterior decoration, WELL™ wireless event wash lights uplit the trees in the garden.

Located in Hartlepool, Disco World has been a bustling DJ and disco supply outlet since 1999. Back in those pre-internet days, Disco World had a thriving mail order business. In May of 2011, it moved into a new 4,000-square-foot space with a massive warehouse, ample office and showroom.
Darren Lowery and Mark Prest, owners of Disco World, have carved out a successful business, both mail order and retail sales, to include sound and lighting equipment for DJs, entertainers, theatre groups, schools, bands, venues and more.
