You Should Be Dancing on COLORrail™

Check out this unique take on a custom dance floor. New Zealand-based MDR Sound and Lighting created this floor using 12 CHAUVET® DJ COLORrail™ IRC linear wash lights placed inside 12 custom squares painted a reflective white paint. Afterwards, a “thick piece of sandblasted Perspex™” is placed on top “to diffuse the light.” Brodie Noon, general manager and director for MDR, went on to say the lights are “controlled by CHAUVET® DJ ShowXpress™ using CHAUVET® DJ Xpress™ 512 Plus with a remote control for the owner to select different programs easily.” They also added in a CHAUVET® DJ Rotosphere™ LED for effects.

CHAUVET® lights Catwalk for Charity

Lit entirely by CHAUVET® fixtures and sponsored by Neiman Marcus, the second annual Catwalk for Charity, held at Miami’s Mandarin Oriental hotel, raised funds for Breakfast with Santa (BWS), a non-profit organization serving underprivileged children in Miami and Haiti.

Thirty CHAUVET® DJ COLORtube™ 3.0 EQ fixtures and four CHAUVET® Professional COLORdash™ Batten Tri wash lights lit up the show’s translucent, 40-foot long runway.

Additionally, four CHAUVET® Professional Legend™ 412 VW variable white wash lights illuminated the models on the catwalk. To provide ambient lighting within the venue, 15 CHAUVET® Professional COLORdash™ Battens wash lights lined the walls and created a soft glow. CHAUVET® DJ ShowXpress™ and CHAUVET® DJ Xpress™ 512 Plus controlled the fixtures.

Our distributor from France, Algam, visited CHAUVET® HQ after The NAMM Show 2012. While they were here, we had a little fun while shooting a video short starring Algam President, Gerard Garnier. Our top question: “Parlez-vous CHAUVET®?” (translated to ‘Do you speak CHAUVET®?’) While we await its completion, here are a few behind the scenes photos to enjoy.

Introducing Nimbus™!

Nimbus™ makes its debut at LDI 2011, booth 175. It’s a dry-iced supplied low fogger. AND it’s amazing! A powerful machine, with two heating elements, and a multi-level control arm for easily controlled output for that “dancing on a cloud” feeling.

Some members of the CHAUVET® staff got a chance to see it in action. In what seemed like seconds the entire floor was “cloud-covered”. The room was outlined on three sides with COLORband™ TRI linear wash lights. Here are a couple of photos we took. Enjoy!
